Monsieur Croche, Museum De Reede en Dana Cohen presenteren een spannende avond met prachtige muziek, high fashion en beeldende kunst.
Over dit evenement:
Onvergetelijke avond in het indrukwekkende Museum De Reede, Antwerpen. Concert met muziek van Francis Poulenc en een modeshow met de kledingstukken van modeontwerpster Dana Cohen. De mooiste pianostukken van Poulenc worden uitgevoerd door de internationale pianisten Gen Tomuro, Isaak Duerinck en Tal Walker. Het programma wordt verteld door Sam Verlinden.
Over de voorstelling:
Een van de meest prominente componisten die tussen de wereldoorlogen in Parijs werkten, was Francis Poulenc. In die tijd werd het muzikale landschap van Parijs eerst gedomineerd door Debussy en daarna door Stravinsky, die de muzikale stijl van Poulenc hebben beïnvloed.
Parijs was in deze jaren een symbool van kunst, muziek, literatuur, film en mode. In deze periode werden Les années folles, internationale schrijvers en kunstenaars aangetrokken tot Parijs om hun kunst voort te zetten en tentoon te stellen. Onder de opmerkelijke vrouwen in Parijs van die tijd waren Coco Chanel, Josephine Baker en Édith Piaf. De ontwerpen van Chanel werden het symbool van de geëmancipeerde vrouw.
Poulenc À La Mode, is een samenwerking tussen Monsieur Croche en modeontwerpster Dana Cohen. Op deze avond willen we de onconventionele combinatie van poëzie, kunst, muziek en mode tot leven brengen, die in het Parijs van die tijd geen zeldzaamheid was. Deze concert/mode-show is een eerbetoon aan sterke vrouwelijke figuren uit die tijd zoals Chanel en Piaf.

About the event:
Unforgettable evening in the impressive Museum De Reede, Antwerp. Concert with music by Francis Poulenc and a fashion show of sustainable Haute Couture by fashion designer Dana Cohen. Poulenc’s most beautiful piano pieces will be performed by the international pianists Gen Tomuro, Isaak Duerinck and Tal Walker. The program will be narrated by Sam Verlinden.
About the performance:
One of the most prominent composers working in Paris between the world wars was Francis Poulenc. At that time, the musical scene of Paris was dominated first by Debussy and then by Stravinsky, who have influenced Poulenc’s musical style.
Paris in these years was a symbol of art, music, literature, cinema and fashion. In this period, Les années folles, international writers and artists were attracted to Paris to persue and exhibit their art. Among the notable women in Paris of the time were Coco Chanel, Josephine Baker and Édith Piaf. Chanel’s designs became the symbol of the emancipated woman.
Poulenc À La Mode, is a collaboration between Monsieur Croche and fashion designer Dana Cohen. In this evening we would like to bring to life the unconventional combination of poetry, art, music and fashion, which was not a rare sight in Paris of the time. This concert/fashion-show is an homage to strong female figures of that time such as Chanel and Piaf.
